The EMB1 Control board was designed to give maximum flexibility for building up a CNC controller while providing a robust, easy plug together, system which can literally be assembled in minutes.

 

A high degree of customisation is also achievable as the design is centred around a large FPGA, this facilitates factory customization of anything from high speed routing of signals between peripherals, to addition of software control modules for such functions as communications, PWM generators and pulse engines etc.   The boards are available in a variety of standard configurations, to suit most common applications, or can be custom configured to handle less common purposes.

Using an Ethernet Smoothstepper board from Warp9 as its main interface to the PC and Mach software, it maintains isolation while providing a high speed interface with up to 4 Million Steps/sec. per axis

    Connecting a motor drive is as simple as plugging in 2 cables      ..and up to 6 motor drives can be connected.

    8 Opto-Isolated Inputs and Outputs are provided as standard for Digital connections.   Easy connect PCBs are available to make connections even easier while also providing LEDs on each input for visual     confirmation.

             

The outputs from 2 of the on-board switchmode power supplies are also available, a 5V and 3.3V output are provided.

 

Need a remote control?  The EMB2 has a dedicated connector for attatching a remote Pendant or Control Panel.  This interface uses several RS485 serial interfaces to communicate over longer distances while achieving high noise immunity.  Designed to work with our Pendant interface, just one cable connection for a fully working bi-directional interface with buttons, switches, LEDs and MPG
